For the 3rd year in a row we'll be hosting our pals from Modern Times out of San Diego for our Saturday brunch.
From their infancy, they've been creating a whirlwind of really fun and impecably executed beers and we're beyond pumped to have them back in the house for brunch!
They always bring the goods for tap takeovers, so expect a rad list ranging from the classics, to the hyper seasonal, to the rarely seen.
Taplist coming soon!
To help take the edge off and get you back in the swing of things, we'll have some special breakfast offerings, brunch cocktails, special brunch appropriate beers (like our Saison du Sauvignon) and Janio's ridiculously awesome Bloody Marys and Micheladas.
Special Brunch menu coming soon!
For the 2nd year in a row, we'll be hosting LA's Eagle Rock Brewing here at Social. They're making some killer stuff down there and we will have a great list ranging from classic styles to rare barrel aged wild ales; both of which they do so well (congratulations to them for winning Gold at the World Beer Cup in the Flanders Red category for their Yearling barrel aged sour ale!)
Owners Jeremy and Ting will be here to chat it up. They're lovely people and we can't wait see them again!
For the 5th year in a row we'll be hosting our good friends from Monkey Paw Pub & Brewery out of San Diego. For the first year ever we'll be featuring their sister brewery South Park Brewing Company alongside for this most splendid of takeovers. Both of these breweries are seldom to never seen in the Bay Area. They always bring a really fun and wacky selection for us to pour so be on the look out for a full draft list.
Owner of both breweries (and brewer at South Park) Scot Blair will be in the house to yap it up like no one else on this planet but Scot can do. We can't wait!
The annual crush for winemakers is a time for brewers to collect beautiful grapes to ferment alongside our barley sugar resulting in truly unique seasonal wine-beer hybrids. We've compiled a list of local breweries partaking in this wonderful tradition. These beers are beautiful, unique, and very scarce.
Since it's Valentine's Day as well, we'll have some fun couple-friendly snacks to partake in while sip these truly exotic creations (food menu coming soon).
This year's house beers:
Saison du Sauvignon 2015 Vintage - Saison fermented with sauvignon blanc grape must and aged for 18 months in stainless.
Saison du Sauvignon 2016 Vintage - Saison fermented with sauvignon blanc grape must and aged for 5 months in stainless

We love Brettanomyces at Social and we've been experimenting a bunch with various strains in various beers. On this night we will tap six of our experiments so we can taste them side by side and further our knowledge of this deliciously funky and complex wild yeast strain.
Day Day's Tripel Double: Belgian Tripel, brewed with rye, aged in red wine barrels for 6 months with Brettanomyces Trois Vrai. Further aged in stainless for 10 more months.
Raps on Brett: Our beloved belgian golden ale, Rapscallion, conditioned in keg with the Brettanomyces Amalgamation blend from Yeast Bay laboratories.
Cloud Cover: belgian wheat ale conditioned in keg with the Brettanomyces Amalgamation blend from Yeast Bay Laboratories.
(name still TBD): Belgian dark strong aged in red wine barrels for 13 months with Brett Claussenii.
The Rice is Right, Beersel Blend: Jasmine rice Belgian Tripel keg conditioned with the Brettanomyces Beersel blend from Yeast Bay Laboratories.
The Rice is Right, Lochristi Blend: Jasmine rice Belgian Tripel keg conditioned with the Brettanomyces Lochristi blend from Yeast Bay Laboratories.
For the 4th year in a row, we'll be hosting a festival of cask conditioned beers, prepared and dispensed in the classic English tradition; refermentation inside the very keg they are drawn from, creating soft natural carbonation that enhances certain styles of beer. Try a great selection of proper cask beer featuring a few of ours and some really fun guest beers. Exact menu to be posted closer to beer week. We always have some fun and twisted things in store. *Brunch served 11:30am-2:30pm
Breweries include: Social, Eagle Rock, Monkey Paw, Magnolia, Marin Brewing Co., Cellarmaker, Free Wheel. More to come!
